Vodafone CEO, Anne O’Leary to speak at DCU Access to the Workplace 2020 Launch

DCU Educational Trust is pleased to announce that Anne O’Leary, CEO of Vodafone Ireland, will join us as a special guest at the launch of DCU’s Access to the Workplace Programme for 2020. The event takes place on DCU’s Glasnevin campus on Wednesday, 27th November from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

DCU launched the Access to the Workplace Programme as a pilot in 2019 to enable students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds to find high-quality summer employment in established workplaces, and to generate a modest income during their summer break.

In its introductory year, over 38 leading Irish companies took part, providing 50 DCU Access with a high-quality summer work placement, whilst also making a philanthropic contribution to support Access scholarships at DCU.

Attendees at the launch of the programme for 2020 will hear the results of an independent evaluation of the Access to the Workplace pilot in 2019, followed by a fireside chat with Anne O’Leary on the ethical and business case for diversity and inclusion.

Speaking in advance of the event, Jason Sherlock, Director of Development with DCU Educational Trust stated:

“We are looking forward to discussing the Access to the Workplace Programme with Anne O’Leary in the context of the ethical and business case for building a culture of diversity and inclusion in all organisations. As an Access to the Workplace partner in 2019 and a company with a strong reputation in this space, Anne will be able to offer excellent insights from Vodafone’s experience.”

“This event will be of interest to all companies committed to building a culture of diversity and inclusion, those concerned with access to talent, and those with a desire to support young people from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds to fulfil their potential in life,” Mr Sherlock concluded.
