Uniting to Transform Lives - DCU and Morgan McKinley

DCU Educational Trust is pleased to announce a new partnership with leading global recruitment consultancy Morgan McKinley which will see the company support DCU’s Access Scholarship Programme for the next four years.

This partnership successfully marries DCU’s mission to transform lives and society through education, research, innovation and engagement with Morgan McKinley’s stated purpose of “Improving Lives.” As a global professional recruitment consultancy, Morgan McKinley understands a thing or two about developing talent whilst DCU’s Access Programme is all about giving talented youth the opportunity to fulfil their potential in life – no matter who they are or where they come from.

Speaking on the partnership announcement, Nathalie Walker, CEO of DCU Educational Trust commented, “We are delighted to partner with an organisation like Morgan McKinley that shares our belief in the power of higher education to transform lives. The DCU Access Programme is a critical support in enabling young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to progress to higher education and to avail of all the possibilities which it can open up in their lives. Without the support of companies like Morgan McKinley, we would be unable to continue to offer life-changing scholarships to our Access students.”

Commenting on the partnership, Ann O’Mahony, Operations Director with Morgan McKinley stated,

“A passion for improving lives runs through everything that we do at Morgan McKinley, from our work which improves the lives of our clients, the professional job seeker and our people.  Our MMK Million CSR programme through which our staff make a personal commitment to take part in fundraising and volunteering activities seeks to improve the lives of those who are less well-off. Our support for DCU’s Access Programme is a further extension of this commitment to improving lives.”

DCU’s Access Programme has been making third level education attainable to students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds for 28 years with 1,300 Access students currently enrolled at DCU for the 2017/18 academic year. The results clearly demonstrate the transformative impact of higher education for DCU’s Access students with 93% completing their third level education and 53% going on to Master’s level study or higher.
